Dan Slavin performed as a professional singer, improviser, and musical theatre actor for eight years until two years ago when a serious car accident took his primary focus from stage work to writing.
Before the accident Dan wrote a lot of music and short horror screenplays on the side for fun, even reaching the Coverfly Redlist twice.
After the accident he shifted gears and upped the throttle, to use a poorly timed, slightly morbid car metaphor.
First Dan wrote, produced, and acted in the SAG-AFTRA feature film, Dual Plans.
Dan then wrote three more spec scripts and two pilots before turning to poetry and prose in December of 2025. Since then, Dan has written a hybrid chapbook, a novel, and multiple flash fiction stories.
